What these terms are
They are the agreement between you and us for using Pets: the site, the application and, if you are part of a shelter, its dashboard. You accept them by using Pets with your account.

What Pets is, and what it is not
Pets puts animal shelters in touch with people who want to adopt or to help. A shelter publishes its animals and what it is short of; you see them, say which one interests you, submit an application if the shelter wants that too and follow the process with it.
Pets is not a shelter, nor a pet shop, nor a clinic:
- We have no animals and we do not decide who adopts. Each adoption is decided and formalised by the shelter, with its conditions and its contract.
- No animals are bought or sold here.
- What a shelter says about an animal's health or character is said by the shelter. It is not veterinary advice from us.
Your account
You sign in with your ProfBlu account, the same one that works for the rest of the platform. Pets has no sign-up of its own. Look after your password: what is done with your account counts as done by you.
A shelter does not register itself: it applies, and a person from the platform reviews the request before approving it.
How it works for those who adopt
- The paw says that an animal interests you. It commits you to nothing and you can withdraw it whenever you like.
- If the shelter reciprocates, you can submit an application: your adopter profile and the answers to its questionnaire. By sending it you accept that that shelter receives that information, as the privacy policy explains.
- During the process you talk by messages, agree appointments and the shelter may ask you to accept documents of its own.
- The shelter may approve an application or not. Submitting one gives no right to adopt.
What you write in your profile and in the questionnaire has to be true. A shelter decides whom it entrusts an animal to on the basis of what you tell it.
How it works for those who help
- Crew member: you can commit an amount per month to a shelter. Today nothing is charged: there is no payment gateway connected and the contribution is recorded as pending; the application says so and does not show it as active. When charging exists you will be told beforehand and you will have to confirm it. You can pause or cancel your contribution whenever you like.
- What they are short of: you can cover something from a shelter's list. Today the order to a shop is a demonstration, marked as such, and nothing is bought.
When money is involved, the contribution will reach the shelter in full: Pets does not keep a share.
How it works for a shelter
- The shelter answers for what it publishes: that the animals exist, that the information is true and that it has permission to use each photo.
- Only photos with an authorisation recorded by the shelter itself are published.
- It decides with its team who can do what, and answers for what is done by whoever signs in with one of its credentials.
- As regards the applicants' data, the shelter is the controller and we are the processor. That is governed by the data processing agreement, which forms part of these terms and is accepted from the dashboard.
Acceptable use
By using Pets you undertake not to:
- publish animals that do not exist, that are not in your care or whose photos you cannot use;
- offer animals in exchange for money or use Pets for breeding or for buying and selling;
- submit applications with false data or in another person's name;
- use the messages for anything other than the adoption process;
- attempt to access data of other accounts or of other shelters, or bypass the permission controls;
- strain the service with automation that degrades it for others;
- use it for anything illegal.
If you find a security flaw, tell us before telling anyone else, at soporte@profblu.com.
What you publish
The texts and photos a shelter uploads remain its own. It gives us permission to show them in Pets while they are published, which is what it uploads them for. If it withdraws the authorisation for a photo, the photo stops being shown.
Price
Using Pets costs nothing to those who adopt or to those who help. If in the future a shelter pays for the service, it will know before it is charged anything.
Availability and changes to the service
We make every effort for Pets to be available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability: it is updated often, there may be maintenance and it may fail. We may change, improve or withdraw features.
Warranties and liability
Pets is offered "as is", with the care we put into it and with no warranty that it is free of errors. We are not liable for what a shelter publishes, for its decisions or for how an adoption turns out: that is between the shelter and the adopter. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage that we have not caused by wilful misconduct or gross negligence. If you are a consumer, none of this curtails the rights that the law of your country grants you and that cannot be excluded.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using Pets whenever you like. We may suspend or close an access, or remove a publication, if these terms are breached or if the use puts an animal, other people or the service at risk; except in an emergency, we will give notice beforehand.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we will give notice with enough time to read them. The date of the last revision is at the top of this page.
Governing law and complaints
Italian law applies. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence and the right to go to the courts of your place of domicile. Before it comes to that, write to us. The European Union also offers an online dispute resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
